Canadian manufacturers produced 1.1 billion cigarettes in April 2023, down 26.8% from March 2023. Cigarette production was 12.4% lower compared with April 2022.
In April 2023, the total number of cigarettes sold decreased 28.9% to 989 million from March 2023. The level of sales was 6.2% lower compared with April 2022.
