New historical tables on mother tongue, language spoken most often at home and first official language spoken

Today, three new historical data tables on languages in Canada, in Canada outside Quebec and in each province and territory are being released.

A table with information on mother tongue for the census years 1951 to 2021, a table on language spoken most often at home for the census years 1971 to 2021, and a table on first official language spoken for the census years 1971 to 2021 are now available.

On March 21, 2023, the first historical data table updated with language-related data from the 2021 Census of Population was released. It presented data on the knowledge of official languages.
