Production and disposition of tobacco products, April 2022

Canadian manufacturers produced 1.2 billion cigarettes in April 2022, down 22.8% from March 2022. Cigarette production was 17.5% lower compared with April 2021.

The total number of cigarettes sold decreased 24.2% to 1.1 billion from March 2022. The level of sales was 26.9% lower compared with April 2021.
