Canadian manufacturers produced 1.5 billion cigarettes in May 2022, up 17.9% from April 2022. Cigarette production was 4.4% higher compared with May 2021.
The total number of cigarettes sold increased 34.7% to 1.4 billion from April 2022. The level of sales was 11.4% higher compared with May 2021.
