Industrial chemicals and synthetic resins, 2021

In 2021, the highest production levels for industrial chemicals were recorded for ethylene (5.0 million tonnes, down 7.3% from 2020), anhydrous ammonia (4.8 million tonnes, down 2.2%) and urea (4.0 million tonnes, down 7.1%).

The production of polyethylene, a synthetic resin, reached 3.8 million tonnes, a decrease of 6.0% from 2020.
