The business opening rate (business openings as a percentage of active businesses) decreased slightly from October to November 2021 (4.6% to 4.5%). However, the rate of business closures also decreased from October to November (4.4% to 4.3%). Overall, the number of active businesses was relatively unchanged, and November marked the seventh consecutive month in which the number of active businesses was above February 2020 levels.
