The number of employees receiving pay and benefits from their employer—measured as "payroll employment" in the Survey of Employment, Payrolls and Hours—decreased by 54,100 (-0.3%) in March, following a decline of 40,200 (-0.2%) in February.

Farm income, first quarter 2025
Realized net income for Canadian farmers fell by $3.3 billion (-25.9%) to $9.4 billion in 2024. This was the largest percentage decrease in realized net income since 2018. Excluding cannabis, realized net income was down 23.0% to $9.7 billion.

Canadian Survey on Business Conditions, first quarter 2025
Cost- and labour-related challenges continue to be the top obstacles anticipated by businesses in the second quarter, with the proportion of businesses expecting to face cost-related obstacles remaining consistent with the first quarter. Meanwhile, the outlook of businesses has worsened, with optimism levels at their lowest since the first quarter of 2024.

Accessibility related barriers to travel among persons with disabilities or long-term conditions, first quarter 2025
From January 2022 to February 2025, more than half (52%) of persons with disabilities or long-term conditions took an out-of-town trip that included travel by airplane, train, bus or ferry. Among this group, 4 in 10 people (40%) experienced at least one type of barrier at the airport, train station, bus terminal or ferry terminal because of their condition.

Quarterly financial statistics for enterprises, first quarter 2025
Net income before taxes for Canadian corporations increased $4.2 billion (+2.7%) in the first quarter of 2025 to reach $161.2 billion. This gain was driven by the financial industries (+7.2%) and supported by the non-financial industries (+0.9%).

Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, first quarter 2025
In April, the Industrial Product Price Index declined 0.8% month over month and increased 2.0% year over year. Meanwhile, the Raw Materials Price Index fell 3.0% month over month and declined 3.6% year over year.

Employment Insurance, first quarter 2025
The number of Canadians receiving regular Employment Insurance (EI) benefits held steady (+0.3%; +1,400) in March at 497,000, following an increase in February (+1.9%; +9,000). Compared with March 2024, the number of regular EI beneficiaries was up by 28,000 (+6.0%) in March 2025.
