Egg production rose 6.0% from December 2015 to 64.3 million dozen in December 2016.
In January, placements of hatchery chicks on farms increased 1.5% compared with the same month a year earlier to 62.1 million birds.
Stocks of frozen poultry meat in cold storage on February 1, 2017, increased 3.9% from the same date a year earlier to 74 275 tonnes.
