Canadian COVID-19 Antibody and Health Survey - Cycle 2
Released: 2023-08-03
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing data tables from the Canadian COVID-19 Antibody and Health Survey - Cycle 2 on self-reported positive COVID-19 tests and suspected infections and the prevalence of long-term COVID-19 symptoms among Canadian adults.
This release also includes the addition of household income, household size, language and immigration variables, as well as the area-based measures from the Canadian Index of Multiple Deprivation, to survey results.
Note to readers
Results from the Canadian COVID-19 Antibody and Health Survey - Cycle 2 (CCAHS-2) were released on March 27, 2023.
The CCAHS-2 was administered by Statistics Canada in collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Canada and the COVID-19 Immunity Task Force.
The reference period for this survey is April 1 to August 31, 2022.
Populations excluded from the CCAHS-2 were persons living in the three territories, persons under 18 years of age, persons living on reserves and other Indigenous settlements in the provinces, persons living in institutions, full-time members of the Canadian Forces living on base and residents of certain remote regions.
Survey weights were used to create a representative sample and to minimize any potential bias that could arise from survey nonresponse. Non-response adjustments and calibration using available auxiliary information were also applied and are reflected in the survey weights. With this release, survey weights have also been updated as a result of a minor adjustment to the calibration step of the survey weights following the addition of area-based variables to the data file, to ensure that the estimates were more precise by level of geography. This adjustment had a negligible impact on survey estimates.
