Training for procurement and materiel management staff 100 100 All Agency procurement officers have completed the online green procurement course.
Training for acquisition cardholders 5 5 The green procurement training currently being taken by procurement and materiel management staff is offered to over 100 acquisition cardholders across the Agency. Corporate Support Services Division recommends that employees follow the online green procurement course before being assigned an acquisition card.
Performance evaluations 100 100 A coding block to identify purchases that follow the green procurement policy was added to the Automated Materiel Management Information System (AMMIS). The functionality was also developed in the Central Departmental Financial System (CDFS), which replaced AMMIS in April 2013. This allowed for the automatic tracking of green procurement effective April 1, 2011 and enabled it to be continued after the change from AMMIS to the CDFS. Green procurement performance clauses are also being added to this year’s performance objectives for all procurement officers; and green procurement performance identifiers have been added to the performance evaluations of contracting and materiel management employees.
Procurement processes and controls Benchmark year 100% of all request for proposals issued by Statistics Canada contained environmental considerations in the statement of work and evaluation criteria. The Agency replaced AMMIS with CDFS on April 1, 2013. The percentage identified here is the relationship of contracts let via Public Works and Government Services Canada tools, rather than Statistics Canada tools. Public Works and Government Services Canada tools have green considerations embedded in them. The percentage of non-salary dollars spent by Statistics Canada under contracts for which green considerations are made is 95%; this includes contracts let via Public Works and Government Services Canada tools.

Office supplies 17.02% of the procurement for office supplies is completed under standing offers awarded by Public Works and Government Services Canada.

19.7% of all office supplies purchased by the Store have green considerations.

Statistics Canada has taken strong steps on the acquisition of office supplies. As of April 2009, it has been mandatory for all such purchases to be made through the Statistics Canada Store, except for regional operations. Public Works and Government Services Canada tools have green considerations embedded in them.
Printers 3.4 Full-time equivalents per printer 7.4 Full-time equivalents per printer Due to the latest announcement by Shared Services Canada and the broadening of the scope of its services, Statistics Canada did not move forward with the printer modernization initiative. Statistics Canada is currently taking measures to ensure the printer ratio is in line with the guidelines established by Treasury Board, which is 1 printer per 8 full-time equivalents
Photocopy paper 3,061 sheets per full-time equivalent 3,105 sheets per full-time equivalent Public Works and Government Services Canada has recently issued a new standing offer for paper. Statistics Canada continues to look for paper reduction opportunities. The increase in sheets per full-time equivalent can be attributed to the increase in paper consumption during the workforce adjustment initiative.
