Chart 10.4 is a bar chart showing the mean scores for reading literacy in 33 OECD countries in 2009. The score is from PISA, the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment, which measures the skills of students toward the end of the period of compulsory education.
Students in Korea had the highest mean score, 539, followed by Finland, 536, and Canada, 524.
The OECD had a mean score of 496.
Mexico had the lowest score, 425.
