  • Across the OECD, renewable energy sources contributed 7.6% to energy supply in 2010, up from 4.8% in 1971.In Canada, their contribution rose to 16.5% in 2010 from 15.3% in 1971.
  • As of June 1, 2011, Canada had 17 nuclear plants connected to the grid; the United States had 104 and the United Kingdom had 19. OECD countries had a total of 338 nuclear plants.
