- In almost all OECD countries, migration is the main source of population growth. In 2009, the countries with the highest share of the foreign-born population were Luxembourg (36.9%), Australia (26.5%), Switzerland (26.3%), Israel (26.2%), New Zealand (22.7%) and Canada (19.6%).
