There were 487,441 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 93 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations in October 2013 compared with 442,987 movements in October 2012. This represents an increase of 10.0%.
Itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) increased 6.2% (+20,054 movements) in October 2013 from the same month the previous year. These airports reported 343,086 movements compared with 323,032 movements in October 2012.
There were 144,355 local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) in October 2013 compared with 119,955 movements in October 2012 (an increase of 20.3 %).
