Aircraft take-offs and landings at Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations decreased 2.6% in December 2013 from the same month the previous year. These 92 airports reported 321,127 movements in December 2013 compared with 329,573 movements at 93 airports in December 2012. (Edmonton City Centre air traffic control tower officially closed November 30^th, 2013.)

Itinerant movements (flights from one airport to another) decreased 1.2% (-3,073 movements) in December 2013 from the same month the previous year. These airports reported 255,359 movements compared with 258,432 movements in December 2012.

There were 65,768 local movements (flights that remain in the vicinity of the airport) in December 2013 compared with 71,141 movements in December 2012 (a decrease of 7.6 %).
