This month, Connecting Stats, Stories and People features an interview with the three winners of the Contest – My story in numbers, organized to mark Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation.
In partnership with the Statistical Society of Canada, Statistics Canada held this nation-wide youth stories contest to engage the next generation of storytellers and statisticians. Nearly 150 youth between the ages of 8 and 18 submitted stories. The three winners are: Alexander Morgado-Drysdale from Mississauga, Ontario, 10 years old; Jordan Kozma from Markham, Ontario, 13 years old; and Alysha Selvarajah from Vaughan, Ontario, 12 years old.
