The price of desktop and similar computers, laptop and tablet computers, and servers was unchanged in February.
Tablets declined 0.4%, while desktops and similar computers rose 0.1%. Prices for servers and laptops were flat.
Smartphone prices increased 0.8%.
The computer peripherals index was down 0.9% compared with January. Prices for computer printers decreased 1.2%, while prices for computer monitors were flat.
Year over year, prices for desktop and similar computers, laptop and tablet computers, and servers decreased 1.6%. Prices for computer monitors and computer printers declined 0.7% compared with February 2018.
Note to readers
The computer and peripherals price indexes are a monthly series that measure the changes over time in the price of computers, computer peripherals and smartphones sold to governments, businesses and households. With each release, data for the previous six months may have been revised. The indexes are not seasonally adjusted.
These indexes are available at the Canada level only.
