New data on gambling are now available for custom requests from the rapid response component of the Canadian Community Health Survey – Annual Component.

  Note to readers

The data were collected from all provinces from July to December 2018.

This module asked respondents aged 15 and older about the type and frequency of various online and in-person gambling activities such as lotteries, organized betting, and casual wagers that have occurred in the past 12 months. Questions related to attitudes and experiences of gambling were then asked and respondents were asked to indicate any financial, social, or mental health consequences they may have experienced in relation to their gambling activities.

The data are now available in the Research Data Centres.

The addition of these questions to the Canadian Community Health Survey was sponsored by the Canadian Consortium for Gambling Research.
