Today, as part of its commitment to inform Canadians of the social and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Statistics Canada is releasing provisional estimates from the Canadian Vital Statistics – Death Database of adjusted, expected and excess mortality, by age and sex.
These estimates cover the period from January to September, 2020, and complement provisional data on excess mortality released on November 26. These data will be updated on a monthly basis.
