Today, Statistics Canada is releasing the technical paper "Construction and Assessment of a Social Inclusion Index for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation: Technical Report." The Social Inclusion Index was commissioned by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

The Social Inclusion Index measures how satisfied Canadian households are with their dwellings and neighbourhoods; how much they feel part of their community; as well as how safe and financially secure they feel. The Social Inclusion Index, which was developed at the national level, can be applied to all geographic strata in the Canadian Housing Survey (CHS). The technical report can be used as a supporting document for the Social Inclusion Index supplementary file to the 2018 CHS, which has been available to researchers since October 2020.
