On a seasonally adjusted basis, sales in the Food Service and Drinking Places subsector decreased by 2.2% to $7.7 billion in March. Limited-service restaurants (-4.4%) and drinking places (-8.5%) were responsible for the decrease. Special food services (+1.2%) saw an increase and sales at full-service restaurants were unchanged (+0.0%). All the provinces saw decreases, with the largest being in Quebec (-3.8%), Ontario (-1.3%), Alberta (-2.9%) and British Columbia (-1.8%).
