Statistics Canada's Centre for Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Statistics has produced two new data tables related to the level of education and field of study, based on data from the 2016 Census of Population. These statistics will be used by the Gender Results Framework, a whole-of-government tool designed to track gender equality in Canada.

The first table shows the proportion of postsecondary qualification holders who are women or men, including a breakdown by STEM (science and technology; engineering; mathematics and computer sciences) and BHASE (non-STEM fields of study: business and administration; arts and humanities; social and behavioural sciences; legal professions and studies; health care; education and teaching; and trades, services, natural resources and conservation) groups of fields of study and highest level of education. The second table presents high school completion rates by sex and age group.

These tables include a breakdown by province and territory as well as other demographic characteristics. They will soon be housed on the Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Statistics hub.
