Marketable production of apples falls to lowest level in over a decade in 2025
Fall is apple season in Canada, whether you grow your own, pick your own at an orchard, bob for apples at a fair, or crunch on a fresh or candied apple at home. The year 2025, however, was a tough one for apple farmers, with marketable production falling 10.8% year over year to 340 620 metric tonnes, the lowest level since 2012.
